Sunday I went with Eric, a friend from BJ, to Falls Church, VA, to try to track down a Bible Presbyterian Church he had seen in a directory. After exiting the Falls Church station we found the main road and began walking toward the church. Strike that. We began walking away from the church thinking that we were walking toward the church. The street numbers started going down and then began going up, honest!
Thankfully Eric realized our error and we turned around. We arrived at the church right at 11:00, expecting to be just in time for the morning service. As it turned out were joining them in the middle of their worship service because they begin at 10:00, not 11:00. We were planning on staying for their afternoon service, but they don’t have one. Evidently we had been misled by talking on the phone with someone from the Japanese church that meets in the same building. The Japanese church does have an afternoon service.
Even with the mixup we were able to enjoy some fellowship with the handful of members that attend the church. While we didn’t have quite the Father’s Day service that we were planning on, we did get plenty of exercise walking around Falls Church.
Parenthetically, I would say in our defense that the church did not have a website, so I only take partial responsibility for our difficulties. 😎
